Amy is a NC Licensed Professional Counselor and the Owner/Practice Director of Lifescapes Counseling Associates. She obtained her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and Anthropology from Wake Forest University, and her Master's Degree in Counseling from NC State University. Amy has experience working with depression, grief, trauma, anxiety disorders, dissociative disorders, behavioral problems, personality issues, adjustment difficulties, relationship problems and career issues. Amy treats individual adults and couples in an atmosphere of hope and warmth, and uses a blend of Supportive, Insight-oriented, Solution-Focused, and Cognitive-Behavioral Strategies. She has recently obtained specialty certification as a Distance Credentialed Counselor, which facilitates the use of technology to link counselors with underserved populations. Amy’s specialty areas include Post-traumatic Stress Disorder, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Panic Disorder, Dissociation, and other issues related to the experience of all forms of abuse and trauma.
